When Israel was captive in Babylon,
Jeremiah sent encouraging words to God's people:

For I know the thoughts and plans I have for you,
thoughts of peace and not of evil,
plans to give you a future and a hope.

And on those days when you find yourself all alone
and there is seemingly no one to help:

How precious are Your thoughts toward me, O God;
How GREAT is the SUM of them!
If I COULD count them,
they would outnumber the sand! 
When I awake, I am STILL with You!
Psalm 139

The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him,
to the soul that seeketh Him.
It is good that a man should both hope
and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
